Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is building a purpose-built helium recovery and cooling infrastructure in Oxfordshire. We seek a Senior Process & Project Engineer to own the end-to-end delivery of critical helium recovery systems, driving technical excellence and safe, reliable operation across the facility.

You will lead design, commissioning and optimisation of high-pressure processes, cryogenic handling, and SCADA-enabled control systems, shaping a high-value, future-ready manufacturing backbone for MRI

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in process engineering and project engineering in heavy process industries.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure systems and safe engineering practices.
  • Working knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations or equivalent standards.
  • Experience managing capital equipment projects from business case to commissioning.
  • Proficiency with project management tools to plan and track delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and contractors.
  • Structured, practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Take technical ownership of helium recovery infrastructure including boil-off collection, compression and reliquefication systems.
  • Design, review and improve process engineering solutions for high-pressure gas and liquefaction systems.
  • Review technical drawing packs such as P&IDs and PFDs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations for new/modified assets.
  • Plan, budget and deliver capital equipment and infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Lead compressor infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle replacements.
  • Support control system improvements across the recovery network.
  • Develop and implement advanced cooling systems for future product needs.
  • Introduce robust project management frameworks to raise delivery standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to align specs.
