About

We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:

  • Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
  • Assisting with personal care and mobility
  • Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs
  • Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g. taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening)
  • Simple wound dressings

Strong team working and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of our patients.

The post holder will work within Syringa Ward, Old People Service. It is a 26 bedded Care of the Elderly Ward. We cater to patients who are acutely unwell and with high dependency needs. Most of our patients may have co-morbidities like dementia, delirium and challenging behaviours.

Barts Health has a diverse and busy service that may require staff to be flexible in their working. The post holder will be required to work within a challenging clinical environment and may undertake shift work which may include nights and weekends.

The post holder will be an integral part of a team actively taking part in meeting the needs of patients and of the service in accordance with agreed standards under direct supervision of the ward manager. The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies though training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.

This post attracts individuals who are new to care. You will receive support to complete the Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within 6 months upon successful completion of all required competencies; until then, you will be placed at a Band 2 salary.
