Job Overview

Under the delegation and supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner, the healthcare support worker will carry out delegated duties independently within the healthcare team. The role involves providing fundamental care and extended skills to patients in the outpatient department, ensuring high standards of safety, patient safety, and a positive care experience by treating all patients, family, relatives, and colleagues with respect, dignity, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values and policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support patients attending outpatient appointments.
  • Prepare notes and fulfill or action patient requests.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and cooperative environment.
  • Keep the environment stocked and complete audits as requested.
  • Take observations if necessary, following Care Certificate recommendations.
  • Provide patient care aligned with Trust expectations and meet individual needs.
  • Order stock and maintain records.
  • Signpost patients to appropriate services and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Keep mandatory training up to date as per Trust requirements.
  • Willing to work in other areas of the Trust as needed.
