NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to support nurses and clinicians in delivering high quality, person-centred care across clinical settings. You will assist with routine patient care activities, undertaking duties as delegated by registered staff and ensuring compassionate support for patients and families.

Successful applicants will have SVQ III in healthcare (or working towards it), excellent communication, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience in caring environments.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks in a busy environment.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required.

The Role

The post holder will deliver high quality care in accordance with guidance given and work delegated by registered nurses. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

In this key role, you will:

  • Assist in delivery of high quality care to meet patient needs.
  • Assist clinicians within a variety of clinical settings as required.
  • Following appropriate training, the post holder will carry out tasks as delegated by a registered nurse, e.g. blood pressure, phlebotomy.
  • Support patients, relatives and carers in order to achieve optimum health and person centred outcomes

What You'll Bring:

  • SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
