Job summary

NHS Highland in Oban is seeking a Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join Ward A Acute Nursing, with occasional rotation to Day Bed Unit A at Lorn & Islands Hospital. Ward A operates 24/7 and cares for acute medical and surgical patients.

The role requires joining a busy team with flexible day and night rotations to support the service. Applicants must be able to assess, plan and implement care for surgical patients, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to undertake

Qualifications

• Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to assess, plan and implement care for surgical patients within scope of practice.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Work predominantly on Ward A Acute Nursing with occasional rotation to Day Bed Unit A.
• Care for acute surgical/medical patients and provide support across shifts, including days and nights.
