Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join Ward 5A Haematology/Oncology in Inverness. The role involves patient observation, personal care, accurate documentation in daily care plans, and supporting the wider nursing team to deliver high-quality cancer care.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual with an interest in cancer care to join our team in Ward 5A haematology/oncology.

We are a friendly, welcoming team, who put our patients at the centre of everything we do. The successful candidate should be adaptable and flexible, and will be required to work dayshifts, nightshifts and public holiday working.

You should have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to deal with the public and be willing to undertake further training as needed.

Responsibilities will include taking observations, providing personal care, documenting care in daily care plans, participating in further training and supporting the wider nursing team to provide excellent care for patients who have a cancer diagnosis and their families.

Additional Information For Candidates

• Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
