Job description

SHCA'S are an important member of the ward team. SHCA assist patients to ensure their daily activities of daily living are maintained. This can include providing assistance with washing and dressing, Pressure area care, Assisting patient to eat and drink, Assisting with mobilisation and transferring patients between departments. The SHCA works closely with the registered nurse to ensure patients receive the best possible holistic care.

As a SHCA you will be expected to assist patients to ensure the daily activities of daily living are maintained. This can include washing and dressing, completing paperwork, assisting patients to eat and drink, pressure area care, mobilising patients safely, reporting concerns and transferring patients between areas.
