Band 3 Senior health care assistant. 2 positions available for the Bloods closer to home service. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, flexible individuals passionate about making a difference and aligned with our Christie values. No prior training is essential as it will be provided if successful at interview.
You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care for patients, ensuring a positive journey throughout their time at the Christie. The role involves running busy clinics/blood room and bloods closer to home service. We welcome applicants with excellent communication skills, empathy, and IT skills, and who are flexible.
The role includes running clinics with different malignancies, working in our blood room (peripheral bloods, central lines, ports), and providing a phlebotomy service at our bloods closer to home sites. Responsibilities also include assisting nurses with admissions, taking patient observations, ECGs, urinalysis, blood sugars, personal hygiene, and recording height and weight. Must own a car, hold a UK driver’s license, and be confident in driving around Greater Manchester and surrounding areas. Comfortable working alone under pressure is essential.

Qualifications (Essential): Basic literacy and numeracy, healthcare qualification at level 3 or equivalent experience.
Experience (Essential): Working in an acute care environment with clinical responsibilities.
Skills (Essential): Clear communication, initiative, IT skills, phlebotomy, customer care. Desirable: routine observations, ECG, cannulation, care skills mentoring.
Knowledge (Essential): Understanding of healthcare support in outpatient settings. Desirable: recent training evidence.
