Our client is a family-owned business who have been established for over 7 years and are passionate about giving the right care to their clients.

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly organised Senior Healthcare Assistant to join their care team. This role combines hands-on care with key administrative duties, supporting both service users and the wider care team to deliver exceptional home-based care.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality personal care to clients in their own homes while also supporting the Registered Manager with day-to-day administrative tasks, scheduling, and team coordination.

Responsibilities for the Senior Healthcare Assistant role include:

  • Deliver person-centred care in line with individual care plans.
  • Support clients with daily tasks including personal hygiene, mobility, medication, nutrition, and companionship.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for carers and respond to any immediate concerns in the field.
  • Mentor and support junior carers, including assisting with inductions and shadowing.
  • Monitor client well-being and report any changes in condition to management.
  • Assist with rota planning and staff scheduling to ensure adequate care coverage.
  • Maintain accurate care records and update care plans as needed.
  • Handle telephone and email queries from carers, clients, and family members.
  • Support compliance with CQC regulations by maintaining documentation and audits.
  • Help with training coordination, supervisions, and performance reviews.
  • Carry out spot checks and service user reviews.

Candidates applying for the Senior Healthcare Assistant role will need:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in domiciliary/home care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Be available to work shifts and weekends on a rota
  • Confident using digital systems (care software, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Ability to lead a team and act under pressure.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
  • Experience in scheduling or administrative support within care.
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and regulations.
  • Previous experience as a senior carer/team leader.
