What does the Day Senior Care Assistant role involve?

In this senior carer role, you’ll provide person-centred care to clients with complex and long-term health conditions across our West Kent hub, covering Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Paddock Wood, and Snodland.

You’ll work with one client per shift, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being while supporting their families and collaborating with a wider care team. As a shift leader, you’ll guide and assist other care team members to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Care Assistant or Care Assistant with confidence and expertise in supporting individuals requiring tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG feeding, stoma management, and medication administration.

Shift Pattern:

  • Permanent contract with a minimum of 35 hours per week.
  • Rolling rota (e.g., 3 on/3 off or 4 on/4 off).
  • Rota issued in advance.
  • This is a DAY role only.

Responsibilities

  • To provide care interventions including personal care, medication administration, tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, stoma care, and ventilator support.
  • To provide a high standard of care to clients with varying healthcare needs.
  • To support new staff with shadow shifts and induction.

Requirements

  • Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
  • 12 months UK care experience and full right to work.
  • Possession of, or willingness to work towards, a level 3 NVQ qualification or similar.
  • Confident, positive interpersonal skills with leadership abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in clinical interventions such as PEG/JEJ, spinal & ABI, Tracheostomy.
  • Blue light card – we’ll pay for it.
  • Enroll onto a Level 2 to Level 5 diploma.
