Job description
Senior Carer - Learning Disability / Autism
  • Location: Birmingham
  • Hours: 30-40 hours per week
  • Shifts: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: £13.00 - £14.15 per hour
  • Positions: 2 (1 for Day Centre, 1 for Residential Care)
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role: We are currently seeking two experienced and compassionate Senior Carers to join our dedicated team supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in Birmingham. One role will be based at our Day Centre, and the other within our Residential Care Home. Both positions offer an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism
  • Support daily living activities, promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Supervise and mentor junior care staff, leading by example
  • Maintain accurate records and care plans in line with regulatory standards
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and the wider care team
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all service users
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful care
