Holt Engineering in Poole, Dorset, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead strategy and site-wide improvements. The role requires hands-on leadership across production, maintenance and office functions, with strong compliance to ISO 45001 and UK H&S legislation.

You will conduct inspections, lead investigations and drive behavioural safety, training and contractor compliance, while reporting to senior management. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Formación

• NEBOSH General Certificate (required) and strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation.
• Experience leading H&S in manufacturing/engineering environments.
• Proven ability to develop and implement ISO 45001 compliant systems.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and lead the company’s Health & Safety strategy and annual improvement plans.
• Maintain and improve the H&S Management System in line with ISO 45001.
• Provide practical H&S guidance to managers, supervisors and employees.
• Lead risk assessments across manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and warehouse areas.
• Develop and review Safe Systems of Work, method statements and permit-to-work processes.
• Support machinery safety, ergonomic improvements and emergency-response arrangements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, behavioural safety observations and internal audits.
• Manage corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and inspections.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Monitor H&S KPIs, trends and improvement actions and report to senior management.
• Develop and deliver H&S inductions, refresher training and toolbox talks.
• Support contractor compliance, RAMS reviews and permit systems.
• Contribute to ISO 14001, environmental controls and waste-management activity.
• Promote employee engagement through safety campaigns, committees and improvement initiatives
