Are you an experienced health & safety professional with knowledge of heavy civil engineering projects and seeking a new opportunity? Shirley Parsons is currently working with a principal contractor seeking a Senior H&S Advisor to join the team on a major project in Dartford. The ideal candidate will have major project experience within civil engineering and be a proactive and engaging H&S professional looking to grow their career.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and guidance to the team and wider contractors
• Carry out site-based H&S audits and inspections
• Support and advise on the assessment and appointment of subcontractors
• Complete monthly reports for senior management, identifying areas of concern and suggesting improvement plans
• Share health & safety best practices across the business
• Lead on accident investigations and near misses to identify root causes and implement improvements
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare method statements for sites when required
• Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture across the organization

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience working in health & safety
• Experience working on major civil engineering projects
• NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• Ideally working towards a Diploma level, but not essential
