Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Falkirk Health Improvement Service as a Senior Health Improvement Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Build health improvement capability and capacity for the service.
  • Lead, coordinate and support delivery of programmes to improve outcomes in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Blood Borne Virus.
  • Facilitate implementation of the specific strength‑based portfolio of work associated with the Sexual Health and BBV Action Plan for Scotland.
  • Oversee the Falkirk Health Improvement Service contribution to the agenda and wider service health improvement initiatives across Forth Valley.
  • Deliver actions on early intervention and prevention as part of the transformation agenda.
  • Maximise outcomes sought by Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership through community planning and the Public Health Priorities.
Qualifications
  • Sound understanding of current and relevant health improvement policy and operational translation.
  • Excellent project and people management skills.
  • Experience of partnership working, outcome‑driven programmes and workforce development.
  • Strong partnership working and outcome‑driven programme experience.
  • First degree and a postgraduate Masters qualification in Public Health/Health Promotion (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a health improvement field.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The successful candidate will hold a first degree as well as a postgraduate Masters qualification in Public Health/Health Promotion (or equivalent) and have significant experience in a health improvement field.
