Annex 21

Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a percentage of the top of Band 3, and on completion of training, will then move on to the Band 3 scale.

The Role

An opportunity has arisen within NHS Lanarkshire for a Senior Healthcare Support Worker based at University Hospital Hairmyres.

The Senior Healthcare Support Worker provides high-quality care to a diverse patient group during radiological imaging procedures, including CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, and plain film examination. They assist radiology staff in producing high-quality images across all imaging modalities, ensuring patient-centered care and efficient patient flow within the department and hospital.

What you'll need to bring
  • SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical (including modules on radiographic images) or equivalent radiography experience, or working towards it.
  • Or
  • SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical or equivalent experience in a clinical healthcare environment.
  • Or
  • No radiography experience? You may be considered under Annex U arrangements for trainees, starting at 75% of the maximum salary, with training to achieve full competency within 12 months.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload.
  • Adaptability to changing circumstances.

Note: A full UK/EU/EEA driving license is required where applicable.

Permanent, Full-time (37 hours)

Location

This role is based in Radiology at University Hospital Hairmyres. Shortlisted applicants may be considered for similar roles at other locations.
