Job summary

Hamilton Specialist Referrals is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to lead our Wards & HDU Clinical Team. You will provide high‑level inpatient care, lead a team of RVNs and VCAs, and work closely with clinicians in a fast‑paced referral hospital.

The role combines hands‑on clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, including appraisals, coaching and ensuring safe, efficient workflow across HDU and inpatient wards.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS).
• Experience in high-dependency/inpatient care.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Ability to coordinate patient flow in a busy referral setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional inpatient care across HDU and wards.
• Lead and mentor the nursing team with appraisals and development.
• Coordinate patient flow and work with clinicians to ensure care standards.
• Act as communication link between nurses, clinicians and coordinators.
• Support ward rounds and implement treatment plans.
• Oversee nursing workflow and rota management.
