Job summary

NHS Grampian invites applications for a Band 4 Physiotherapy HCSW – Elective Orthopaedics at Woodend Hospital. 36 hours per week, permanent, in the Acute Physiotherapy Team.

The post supports a team of physiotherapists to deliver patient care in Elective Orthopaedics, with a delegated caseload and involvement in discharge planning. Applicants should have significant HCSW experience or SVQ Health Care, and knowledge of exercise/orthopaedics is essential.

Qualifications

• Several years experience as an HCSW in a therapy team or ward setting.
• SVQ Health Care qualification or equivalent.
• Experience or knowledge of exercise or Orthopaedics is essential.

Responsibilities

• Hold a delegated caseload of patients and provide treatments within a defined framework.
• Assist patients to achieve safe and independent mobility and support discharge planning.
• May work in other specialties within the Acute Sector, including at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients and carers.
