Job summary

Cucumber Recruitment is seeking a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our flexible staffing team in Leeds. Immediate shifts are available with a supportive environment and weekly pay. DBS on Update Service speeds onboarding, and long-term placements or ad-hoc work are possible.

With 6+ months of relevant experience, you will lead junior staff, provide person-centred care and maintain accurate care records while communicating with healthcare professionals and families as appropriate.

Qualifications

• 6+ months recent experience as Senior Healthcare Assistant or similar.
• Confidence in leading or mentoring junior staff.
• Up-to-date Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred.
• Reliable, compassionate and flexible approach to work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mandatory training certificates (renewals supported)

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care: personal care, emotional support, companionship.
• Lead by example and support junior staff.
• Administer medications where required.
• Communicate with healthcare professionals and family as needed.
• Maintain clear and accurate care records.
• Ensure a safe and respectful care environment at all times.
