Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer

Salary: up to £50,000 per annum dependent upon experience

We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Senior Hardware Engineer. The role will be based in Rochester, Kent and offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed.

They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions annually for customers in over 100 countries.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to formulate and optimise innovative hardware engineering solutions for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors, and other safety-critical technology.

This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge projects within a diverse, experienced team, with opportunities for career progression in the industry.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute complex hardware design tasks in line with the hardware development plan, ensuring timely delivery within budgets.
  • Conduct hardware requirements capture, preliminary and detailed design, including analysis tasks.
  • Coach and develop junior team members.
  • Deliver design artefacts adhering to company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines within an integrated team.
  • Possess people management responsibilities in this role.

About You:

  • Degree/HND in electronics engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in digital and/or analogue electronics technologies
  • Experience across the engineering development lifecycle, from concept to certification
  • Good understanding of cost and schedule constraints
  • Excellent communication skills, articulate and inquisitive mindset
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise, Simetrix or Spice, Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink

Eligibility:

You must be eligible for SC clearance, hold a British passport, and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
