Job Opportunity: Senior Hardware Engineer at Raytheon UK
Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced and high-performing Engineer to join the Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area. The team develops Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. This role is based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility, reporting directly to the APNT Digital Hardware Engineering Lead.
Role Overview: The Senior Hardware Engineer (considering applications from candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience) will contribute to a diverse range of product designs and assist in integrating these into complete systems.
Main Duties:
- Develop requirements ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate with system engineers on electronic subsystem architectures.
- Create schematics, design PCBs, select, evaluate, and verify components.
- Work alongside embedded software and mechanical engineers.
- Generate design documentation and conduct technical reviews.
- Utilize experience with embedded digital electronics, microprocessor systems, ADC/DAC, memory devices, FPGAs, and SoC technologies.
- Create prototypes and transition to production hardware.
- Support PCB designs in accordance with defence and airborne standards.
- Work with high-speed interfaces and signal technologies such as LVDS, JESD.
- Design for manufacture and present technical information clearly.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
- Maintain current SC security clearance or eligibility.
- Experience with Xilinx chips, Mentor Xpedition, SPICE, and DO254 compliance is desirable.
- Apply systems engineering approach across the design lifecycle.
- Understand environmental requirements and testing (shock, vibration, EMC).
