Job description

Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area. The role involves creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market and is based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility. The successful candidate will report directly to the APNT Digital Hardware Engineering Lead.

Main Duties include:

1. Developing requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
2. Collaborating with system engineers on electronic subsystem architectures.
3. Creating schematics, PCB design, component selection, evaluation, and verification.
4. Working with embedded software and mechanical engineers.
5. Generating design documentation and conducting technical reviews.
6. Applying experience with embedded digital electronics, microprocessor systems, ADC/DAC, memory devices, FPGAs, and SoC technologies.
7. Supporting prototype creation and transition to production hardware.
8. Ensuring PCB designs conform to defence and airborne standards.
9. Working with high-speed interfaces such as LVDS and JESD.
10. Designing for manufacture and presenting technical information clearly.
11. Demonstrating analytical, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
12. Possessing or eligible for current SC security clearance.
13. Experience with Xilinx chips, Mentor Xpedition, SPICE, and creating DO254 compliant systems.
14. Understanding of VITA interfaces and environmental testing requirements.
15. Having domain knowledge in APNT systems or similar fields.
