Job description

Senior Hardware Design Engineer

You will be joining a small, dynamic team continually designing and developing world-class products. As a Senior Hardware Design Engineer, you will be involved in the full product lifecycle, including requirements, design, testing, release, and support of digital, analogue, and RF designs.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment on RF technologies across markets such as defense and aerospace.

Responsibilities
  • Design of electronic circuits, subsystems, and systems across analog, digital, and RF domains.
  • Schematic capture, layout, and footprint/symbol creation.
  • Maintain and update Altium libraries and templates.
  • Scope new systems and technologies for feasibility and product design.
  • Manage external design houses and resources.
  • Provide technical support and testing, including troubleshooting hardware and system issues.
  • Assist in production and manufacturing.
  • Conduct design reviews and verify designs against specifications.
  • Mentor lower-grade engineers as needed.
  • Document designs and communicate effectively within the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills in digital circuit design, analogue circuit design, layout, EMC, CE marking, and design for IPC.
  • Practical PCB bring-up and testing experience.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and a strong team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce results.
  • Good analytical skills.
Preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Experience with Altium Designer.
  • Optional skills: embedded firmware, military or airborne electronic design, MIL-STD testing, JTAG boundary scan, oscilloscopes, analyzers, signal generators.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Masters degree preferred.
Additional Details
  • UK citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Travel unlikely.
  • Onsite work with flexible working from home policy.
