Job Description
As a Senior Hair Stylist, you will work together with your peers to bring to life the ever-evolving ASOS Creative. You'll be responsible for making sure every model looks and feels ASOS ready throughout their shoot day. The role requires an unflappable, solution-focused, and hardworking individual with a passion for the brand. You have the ability to successfully support a team with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset. It is vital that you can work as a role model and are passionate about hairstyling, makeup, and fashion. This role requires proficiency in both hair and makeup artistry, with a stronger emphasis on hair styling skills.
What you'll be doing...
- Reporting directly into the lead hairstylist, responsible for contributing to the day-to-day running of the hair team
- Producing excellent hair that aligns with the ASOS aesthetic and appeals to the ASOS 20-something customer
- Being the go-to person for all things hair related
- Working to deadlines to ensure all models are shoot-ready and KPIs are met
- Building relationships with ASOS models to instill trust in your hair abilities and in the wider production department
- Developing your leadership and communication skills in line with ASOS Behaviours policy
- Analyzing your technical hair execution through daily updates and seeking improvement under the guidance of the team leader
- Collaborating with Leads and Management to deliver the department strategy and building strong relationships with the studio team
- Overseeing end-of-day tasks to ensure high standards
- Stepping up in the absence of the hair manager
- Supporting junior team members and identifying areas for development
- Handling model issues professionally and in line with ASOS policies
- Demonstrating brand awareness by researching trends and assessing competition
- Keeping up with the latest trends from fashion shows, influencers, TikTok, and street styles
- Encouraging authenticity, bravery, and creativity within the team
- Working with the model team to maximize each model's potential
- Assisting with shoot set-up and administrative tasks
- Delivering projects aligned with the department strategy and supporting the culture of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Qualifications
We'd love to meet someone with...
- Previous professional hair session styling experience
- Experience in fashion e-commerce
- Experience with all hair textures, including wigs, weaves, and extensions
- A methodical, accurate, and organized approach with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and think quickly
- Assertiveness and forward-thinking
- A proactive, efficient attitude
- An unflappable nature suited to a fast-paced environment
- High energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit
- Skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, InDesign, Sitecore, and general PC/MAC operation
