Job description

Our client are the leading developer and operator of low-carbon electricity in the UK and Ireland.

They are looking for a Senior Group Reporting Accountant to join their team from either Glasgow or Perth.

Job Role: Senior Group Reporting Accountant
Base Location: Hybrid working, 2-3 days in either the Perth or Glasgow office.
Contract: 12 months, full-time, Monday to Friday
Clearance: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) required
Rate: Up to £415/day via PAYE

Main Purpose of the Job:
This role is a key member of the team responsible for preparing listed group Annual Report and Accounts and Interim Results Statements. You'll handle specific accounting areas for group financial statements, including note preparation and documentation control enhancement. The role requires close liaison with internal business units and external auditors, delivering under tight reporting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Group Financial Statements
- Prepare and review disclosures and supporting information for key notes
- Manage disclosure notes through audit process
- Maintain key controls over the group consolidation
- Subsidiary Accounts
- Review and manage audits for corporate and holding entities
- Act as super-user for accounts production software (Thomson-Reuters OneSource)
- Accounting Projects
- Support on financial reporting projects such as IFRS adoption and system upgrades
- Control & Compliance
- Assist with implementation of UK SOX requirements
- Ensure compliance with standards, legislation, and governance codes

Desired Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 5+ years PQE in financial reporting or audit
- Knowledge of listed plc reporting and consolidation requirements
- Strong grasp of IFRS, governance, and statutory reporting
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple complex tasks independently
- Familiarity with OneSource is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office
