Job summary

Sweco is recruiting a Principal Hydrogeologist to join the Groundwater team in Leeds. You’ll lead groundwater resources projects, from aquifer development to EIA support, within a multidisciplinary consultancy. Flexible, with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.

The role requires a MSc/PhD in hydrogeology (or equivalent), Chartered status, and proven project leadership. Attractive benefits and career progression in a dynamic UK water environment.

Qualifications

• Strong background in water resources hydrogeology and EIA work.
• Experience leading groundwater projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Chartered membership with Geological Society or CIWEM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver groundwater projects, managing time, cost and quality targets.
• Act as discipline lead in multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Maintain client contact and ensure project objectives are met.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
