Fulham Football Club is seeking a Groundsman to develop and maintain its pitches and landscapes under the direction of a line manager. The role involves outdoor work, machinery operation, and weekend rotas at the training ground and stadium.

You will focus on high quality pitch standards, mowing, line marking, irrigation, aeration, spraying (where qualified), and supervising a small team. A full driving licence and PA1-PA6 spraying qualifications are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain all Club pitches to the highest standards.
• Maintain all machines, tools, equipment, and club properties appropriately.
• Keep the Management Team informed of progress and issues as identified.
• Liaise with outside users and contractors as required.
• Perform mowing using hand and ride-on machines.
• Carry out white line marking to a high standard.
• Drive tractors and utility vehicles, and couple up trailers.
• Move frost covers in winter and aerate pitches and adjacent areas.
• Operate irrigation and watering duties, and complete daily diary entries.
• Conduct pitch testing and data collection.
• Carry out chemical spraying (if qualified), hedge trimming, weed picking, and use of strimmers, blowers, and edgers.
• Move goals and dugouts around the training ground.
• Supervise team operations and maintain safety protocols.

About the Role

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining all of Fulham Football Club's pitches and landscapes, working under the direction of a line manager. The work is carried out to the highest pitch parameters and maintenance standards expected by the Head of Grounds, Squad Management and Directors of the Club. Day-to-day duties include physical outdoor work and operating machinery, with matchday and weekend rotas also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain all Club pitches to the highest standards.
• Maintain all machines, tools, equipment, and club properties appropriately.
• Keep the Management Team and line manager informed of progress, pitch works, job lists, and major issues as soon as identified.
• Liaise with outside users and contractors as required.
• Ensure materials and resources are effectively and efficiently used to minimise waste.
• Perform mowing using hand and ride-on machines.
• Carry out white line marking to a high standard.
• Drive tractors and utility vehicles, and couple up trailers and other equipment.
• Move frost covers in winter and carry out aeration of pitches and adjacent areas.
• Operate irrigation and watering duties, and complete daily diary entries.
• Conduct pitch testing and data collection.
• Carry out chemical spraying (if qualified), hedge trimming, weed picking, and use of strimmers, blowers, and edgers.
• Move goals and dugouts around the training ground.
• Supervise team operations.
• Maintain grow lights and replace nets in line with health and safety requirements.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Full driving licence.
• NVQ Level 2 in sports turf or equivalent.
• Experience of the sports turf industry.
• Spraying qualifications PA1, PA2, PA6.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Ability to provide written and/or verbal progress reports to management.
• Physically fit.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to think on your feet and use own initiative.
• Flexible attitude to work tasks and hours.

Preferred Skills
