Job description

Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent almost a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile and VR gaming. We have developed multiple award-winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we’re now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we’ve done previously!

As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers.

We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey!

The Role:

We're on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Graphics Programmer (at a Mid, Experience or Senior-level) to join our development team and help create visually stunning and entertaining games across multiple platforms. Join us and play a key role in defining the visual quality and performance of our titles, while working in a collaborative and creative environment where your input will directly influence the final product.

As a Graphics Programmer, you will be responsible for architecting, prototyping, and developing rendering systems and advanced graphics features. Your work will focus on pushing visual fidelity to new heights while maintaining optimal performance across a variety of hardware platforms.

You will get involved in writing and maintaining high-quality, efficient shaders; profiling and addressing performance bottlenecks to ensure a seamless player experience; and collaborating closely with Technical Artists in order to streamline and enhance art pipelines. You will also ensure the reliability and quality of all graphics-related code, contributing to the overall polish and stability of our games.

About you:

You will join us with a strong understanding of real-time rendering, a sharp eye for visual detail, and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges. Your passion for creating visually compelling, high-performance graphics will be matched by your enthusiasm for working within a supportive, creative, and collaborative team environment.

You'll be excited to utilise your professional experience programming in C# or C++, with a solid grasp of coding standards, design principles, and efficient development methodologies. Your background will also include shader programming using HLSL, GLSL, or CG. Being well-versed in Graphics profiling and optimisation, you are well-versed in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in order to deliver a smooth user experience.

Strong mathematical skills and excellent technical implementation abilities will underpin your work, especially in the development of rendering systems.

Finally, you’ll bring a keen eye for detail, a genuine love of games, and a positive, collaborative mindset that helps create a great team culture.
