Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and ambitious individual to become the Senior Graphic Designer for Stoke City Football Club at the bet365 Stadium.

If you believe you can shine in the relentlessly fast paced and infectiously exciting environments of elite football and stadium events, and are fully committed to elevation of your craft, this is a position not to be missed.

Bringing every stage of the footballing and events calendar to life on behalf of a salt of the earth community and passionate fanbase will, we believe, quickly become a labour of love for our successful candidate.

An exciting period to become a Potter

  • Consultation ongoing with fans regarding a prospective change to the Club Crest, which would trigger an accompanying rebranding process.
  • With a current focus on turbocharging our annual calendar of non-football events, you’ll have the opportunity to put the bet365 Stadium on the map for so much more than the beautiful game.
  • A new community mission for our official charity is in its infancy and we can’t wait to see it launched and brought to life through graphic design.

Main Responsibilities

  • Executing high quality graphic design assets for the Club’s full range of digital and printed materials across first team football, Academy, women’s team, bet365 Stadium events, matchday production and the Stoke City Community Trust.
  • Striking a balance between design creativity and flair whilst always chiming with the established look and feel of our brands.
  • Liaising with the Club’s creative agency and freelance designers as required to manage an ongoing rolling ledger of design work.
  • Managing and prioritising the graphic design workload, ensuring that deadlines are met and capacity issues are confronted in advance.
  • Coordinating the rollout of big screen multimedia assets ahead of each match day.
  • High-quality dialogue with department heads and other key stakeholders to drive artwork projects forward.
  • Using marketing and design nous to contribute to tactical discussions and operational delivery within the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Being synonymous across the organisation for the extent of your dedication, the quality of your craft and the scale of your ambition.
  • Acting as line manage to direct reports as recruited and required.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience in a design capacity within a high-performing, fast paced business environment.
  • Extensive portfolio of published work demonstrating flair, creativity and the ability to work within brand guidelines.
  • Academic qualifications relevant to the role.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in graphic design and multimedia.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Proven leadership skills of developing team members.

The successful candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends to cover matchday fixtures and other ad hoc events.

The position will be offered on a full time, permanent basis.

Stoke City Football Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background and DBS checks at the appropriate level will be obtained prior to employment commencing.

To apply, please complete and return the application form, along with any examples of your design work to support your application, to Human Resources, SCFC Jobs, bet365 Stadium, Stanley Matthews Way, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 4EG or email to stokejobs@stokecityfc.com quoting ‘SRGD2506SCFC’ in the subject line.

Kindly only include portfolio work that has been previously published by professional organisations or created specifically for this recruitment process.

The closing date for applications is 23:59 on Monday 16th June.
