Job description

The IPA, Incorporated by Royal Charter, is widely recognised as the world’s most influential professional body for practitioners in advertising, media and marketing communications. We have a well-earned reputation for thought leadership, best practice and continuous professional development and provide core support and advisory services for our 298 agency members who handle over 80% of advertising spend.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Graphic Designer to join our in-house creative team. The role is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave on a 3 day a week basis. Days to suit you and your current responsibilities.

As a key member of the design studio, you will work closely with our Associate Director of Communications and one other in-house designer to uphold and evolve the visual identity of the IPA and its associated brands, including TouchPoints, Advertising Unlocked, and more. You will play a critical role as a brand guardian, ensuring design excellence across all outputs, from print to digital, and contributing to our visual strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and enforce the IPA brand identity, as well as associated partner brands, ensuring consistency and quality across all media.
  2. Collaborate with both internal teams and external clients to manage design projects from concept to completion.
  3. Produce a variety of creative materials, including advertising, promotional designs, social media assets, reports, and event photography.
  4. Take briefs from various IPA departments such as Communications, Marketing, Finance, Legal & Public Affairs, Media Affairs, and others, ensuring all design deliverables meet internal and external expectations.
  5. Create and edit complex charts, infographics, illustrations, and annual reports.
  6. Design both static and animated social media content, and repurpose existing artwork for use across email, print, web, and social media platforms.
  7. Perform photography duties for internal events, interviews, and marketing materials as needed.
  8. Manage image resizing, photo retouching, podcast, and video editing.
  9. Oversee workflow via Microsoft Outlook job tracking system, coordinating tasks to meet deadlines.

Skills & Expertise:

  1. Proficiency across Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premier Pro) and Microsoft Office.
  2. Strong knowledge of print and digital production, with an ability to create high-quality, scalable designs for multiple platforms.
  3. Photography skills, with experience in both event coverage and portrait shoots.
  4. Excellent understanding of layout, typography, colour theory, and image manipulation.
  5. Experience with video and podcast editing is a plus.
