Job description
Overview

Senior Grants Officer with experience processing grants and bursaries, preferably within a Finance Department, with intermediate Excel and data analysis skills, is required for an organisation that supports the UK TV, Film, VFX, Animation and the Games Industry.

SALARY: £33,000 - £38,000 pro rata

LOCATION: City of London / Hybrid (Minimum 2 days per week in the London office) – candidates MUST live within a commutable distance to London (EC1V)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Responsibilities
  • Support the Finance Manager in maintaining the smooth running of the grants and bursaries process.
  • Process the organisation’s grants and bursaries, ensuring projects stay within budget, are contracted in a timely manner, and are subsequently monitored.
  • Collaborate across the wider organisation to ensure funders’ requirements are met.
Duties
  • Grants Management
    • In collaboration with delivery teams, develop appropriate schemes, guidelines, funding programmes, application and assessment forms for the fund.
    • Work closely with the delivery team to regularly inform fund priorities and processes.
    • Manage finance process for grants commissioning rounds and tenders.
    • Collate the assessment of applications to the funds, reviewing project budgets and cash flow summaries, financial assessment and presenting recommendations to the relevant decision panel or delivery managers.
    • Manage master templates of grants and bursaries contracts with regular reviews.
    • Issue and manage grant contracts ensuring these are legally sound and linked with deliverables and are in line with the company procurement policy.
    • Review approved grant applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring alignment with the grants process.
    • Work with the delivery team to regularly inform fund priorities and processes.
    • Manage master templates of grants and bursaries contracts with regular reviews.
  • Systems and Reporting
    • Reconciling grants data from grants database (BBGM) with the finance system (Sun).
    • Regular review of aged grant creditors report - at least quarterly, providing narrative, prompt processing of fall-in grants, chasing grants creditors for outstanding reports and closing off grants in the grants database and reporting it to the finance system.
    • Maintaining the grants management system, providing training to new members including guides, ongoing evaluation of the system, identifying weaknesses and putting solutions in place.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Provide support to other members of the Fund team.
    • Provide support during financial and performance audit.
    • Provide process training to new delivery staff.
    • Projects and bids.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Proven experience of working in a similar role within a finance department.
  • Proven experience of data analysis and manipulation.
  • Excellent IT skills including intermediate Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of setting up processes to ensure master templates and contracts are reviewed.
  • Experience of managing and being the lead on system implementations.
  • Excellent organisation skills; ability to effectively manage varied tasks with competing priorities with minimum supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
Desirable
  • Previous working experience of BBGM (GIFTS), SUN accounting system using Q&A.
