Job summary

Wright Staff in Pershore, Worcestershire, is seeking a Senior Goods Inwards & Subcontract Controller to lead stores activities, manage goods-in, raw material warehousing, subcontract transfers, and inventory control within a defence-focused manufacturing setting.

You will drive efficient material flow, maintain stock accuracy, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards while coordinating with procurement, quality, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Completion of Secondary Education
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence

Responsibilities

• Goods Inwards: Receive, check, and record all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
• Subcontract Control: Prepare and dispatch materials to subcontractors with correct documentation; Track and monitor subcontract orders to ensure timely return of goods; Verify quality and quantity of returned items before release to production; Maintain records of subcontract activity for audit and traceability purposes
• Process & Continuous Improvement: Implement lean practices and 5S across goods inwards and subcontract areas; Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements; Support audits and compliance checks (ISO, customer requirements); Contribute to KPIs such as on-time delivery, stock accuracy, and supplier performance; Inspect goods for quality, damage, and compliance with specifications; Maintain accurate stock records and update ERP/MRP systems; Organise and store materials using 5S; Liaise with suppliers regarding discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods
