Job summary

Taylor Root is representing a leading international law firm seeking a Senior Risk Lawyer to join its Risk & Compliance team. The role offers broad advisory exposure across regulatory, professional conduct, and compliance matters globally.

Reporting into senior risk leadership, you will advise on ethics, AML, sanctions, conflicts, data protection, and client terms, partnering with lawyers and business services to drive pragmatic risk guidance and policy development.

Qualifications

Qualified lawyer with England & Wales status.
6–10 years’ PQE.
Experience in risk & compliance within an international law firm.
Knowledge of AML, sanctions, conflicts, confidentiality, privilege, and data protection.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to provide pragmatic, commercial risk advice.
Experience delivering training and working with senior stakeholders.
High levels of discretion, professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Advise on a broad range of risk and compliance matters, including professional conduct, regulatory compliance, conflicts, AML and sanctions, data protection, and contractual terms.
Partner with legal and business services teams to provide practical risk advice.
Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business.
Draft, review and update policies, procedures and guidance reflecting regulatory changes.
Support implementation of risk management initiatives across the organisation.
Maintain compliance registers and monitoring frameworks.
Deliver training and awareness sessions to colleagues.
