Job summary

Acorn by Synergie seeks an experienced Senior Logistics & Freight Coordinator to join a Bridgend team. You will oversee international freight operations across air, sea and road, coordinate customs clearance and documentation, and mentor junior staff to improve processes and service delivery.

The role offers hybrid working, a Monday–Friday pattern and progression toward management, with a salary of £45,000–£49,000 depending on experience. Apply within for a permanent position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within freight forwarding or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, VAT and international trade regulations.
• Experience managing end-to-end international shipments across multiple transport modes.
• Good understanding of import/export documentation and Incoterms.
• Excellent organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Leadership potential and a genuine ambition to progress into management.

Responsibilities

• Manage international freight shipments across air, sea and road.
• Coordinate customs clearance, import/export documentation and Incoterms.
• Negotiate competitive rates with carriers, freight partners and suppliers.
• Monitor shipments and provide regular updates to customers.
• Resolve freight and logistics issues to ensure deliveries are completed on time.
• Maintain accurate shipment and customs records.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
• Support, mentor and develop members of the operations team.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and freight partners.
