Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our growing GIS team based in Land and Consents business. The team are involved in a wide scope of infrastructure and development projects with the role helping us to continue to deliver the highest quality service to our customers throughout the UK.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GIS Technician/analyst to join our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team who will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of GIS applications and data infrastructure to support decision-making across the organization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking.

Key Deliverables:

  • Support the development and implementation of GIS innovation across the business.
  • Providing mapping support using QGIS, ESRI, and other software packages to all business units within Freedom and NG Bailey, including Land Referencing, Design, Consents, and Environmental work streams.
  • Analysis of data from numerous sources for both small- and large-scale projects.
  • Develop and enforce GIS standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Audit/quality check the work carried out by other staff within the team, provide feedback, and report findings.
  • Provide training and support to GIS users across the organization.
  • Stay current with GIS trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation through the development and enhancement of our products and applications.
  • Use our ESRI and QGIS Systems with the wider teams to produce GIS solutions such as applications, mobile surveys, and automated processes.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, QGIS) and other GIS programmes to work with spatial data and create visualisations.
  • Experience with spatial databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server).
  • Experience with GIS project development from initial idea through to handover.
