Job summary

Natural England is seeking a senior GIS and data specialist to lead geospatial delivery for the Local Nature Recovery Strategy programme. You will manage the national LNRS map, coordinate data from Responsible Authorities, and engage Defra colleagues to ensure data quality and accessibility.

With advanced ArcGIS skills, you will develop tools, maintain licensing compliance, and drive data sharing with stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications

• Advanced GIS capabilities with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.
• Experience transforming spatial and non-spatial data from different sources.
• Ability to present maps and statistics for reports or external publications.
• Knowledge of data licensing, metadata standards and GDPR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as project manager and technical lead for the national LNRS map.
• Coordinate data and engagement with Responsible Authorities and Defra colleagues.
• Lead the LNRS Data & Evidence workstream and organise regular calls.
• Develop GIS tools for sharing LNRS data within Defra and publicly.
