Job summary

A leading company in Derby is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Site Technician for a full-time position. You will be responsible for conducting various geotechnical tests both on-site and in the lab, while ensuring equipment is properly maintained and compliant with current procedures. This role requires strong communication and the ability to work independently. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in geotechnical testing and possess a positive attitude.

• Hold a full UK driving licence and CSCS card.
• Must have knowledge of lab-based geotechnical test methods.

Blue Arrow Derby are proud to be working in partnership with our client based in Derby, they are looking to recruit a Senior Geotechnical Site Technician to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Salary: £29,725 - £32,800 DOE
Working Hours: 38.75 hours per week - Monday to Friday, primarily site-based with some work at another site. Opportunity for paid overtime, with occasional weekend work required
About the job:
* Carry out geotechnical site and laboratory testing
* Maintaining competency/authorisation for the necessary range of test procedures
* Ensure equipment is in current calibration and pre-test checks are completed
* Ensure that test equipment is checked regularly and functioning correctly, and that any failures, defects or damage is reported
* Use and maintain equipment with all due care and ensure that weekly checks are carried out
* Ensure that all necessary test information, results and QC data are recorded in the manner required by current procedures
* Maintain good site working practice at all times


Previous experience/qualifications required:


* Experience in geotechnical testing
* Knowledge and experience of site and lab-based geotechnical test methods
* The ability to support training and development of other technicians
* Ability to calibrate test equipment
* Motivated and focussed, with a positive outlook/approach
* Be able to work with a varied workload
* Communication is key for this role; you will be able to make an impact and work well within a team
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Holds CSCS card
