Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking a seasoned Geotechnical Engineer to provide expertise across investigation, testing, analysis and design for transportation projects. You will serve as geotechnical expert on construction and maintenance work and support policy development.

You will communicate with internal staff, local governments, consultants and FHWA, oversee consultant plans, conduct complex analyses, and develop alternative solutions.

Formación

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Valid Professional Engineer's license.
• Experience applying FHWA and AASHTO specifications for geotechnical design.

Responsabilidades

• Communications with customers internal and external to VDOT.
• Conduct engineering studies and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Consultant oversight of geotechnical designs and reports.
• Geotechnical analysis and design for project documents.
• Interpret regulations and develop standards and design techniques.
• Lead project teams and ensure timely communication.
• Fulfill duties as responsible charge engineer.
