Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant in Rotherham to take lead on geoenvironmental projects and manage end-to-end ground investigations. The role focuses on contaminated land assessments from initial risk work through to remediation planning, with wide exposure to residential, commercial and infrastructure schemes.

The ideal candidate will have a geology/geo-science degree, extensive UK contamination experience, and strong report writing and project management

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Significant geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance.
• Experience managing ground investigations and supervising site works.
• Excellent report writing and project management skills.
• Chartered status or working towards Chartership desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Site Investigations.
• Design, supervise and interpret ground investigations.
• Carry out contaminated land risk assessments and develop remediation strategies.
• Produce high-quality factual and interpretative geoenvironmental reports.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and client relationships.
• Liaise with contractors, regulators and other technical disciplines throughout project delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and consultants.
• Assist with business development, proposals and tender submissions.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest technical standards.

Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience)

An excellent opportunity has become available for a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Rotherham. This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, leading contaminated land and ground investigation schemes from initial assessment through to project completion.

This position is ideal for an experienced consultant looking to take on greater responsibility, mentor junior staff and play a key role in the continued growth of an established geoenvironmental team.

The Role
