Job description

Overview

My client is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer for an initial 3 month contract for work in London. The candidate should as default work from our office at least 3 days a week, but this can be negotiated depending on the candidate.

Responsibilities

• Review of leg penetration and spudcan-quay wall interaction analyses provided by consultants; review of leg penetration analysis and vessel suitability; high level jack-up installation assessment using in-house tools and methods.
• Other potential ad-hoc tasks:
• Supporting scoping, planning and operations for geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing
• Analysing and interpreting large geotechnical datasets to deliver high-quality site characterisations and engineering soil/rock properties for design and installation assessments
• Supporting engineering assessments for jack-up installations
• Other tasks aligned with the competencies above and support offshore wind farm site characterisation and related engineering activities
• Have proven experience in offshore site characterisation and analyses of in situ data and laboratory test results
• Have in-depth experience with planning, scoping and execution of offshore geotechnical site investigations, including operational and in situ techniques
• Have in-depth experience with Leg Penetration Analyses and engineering assessments applicable to jack-up installations
• Have proven experience with processing and validating geotechnical data, including AGS data handling and with writing Geotechnical Interpretation Reports (GIRs)
• Have knowledge of the geotechnical input required for foundation and cable design, installation constraints and understanding of the interfaces with different engineering teams
• Have a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability and capable of working with different tasks in parallel
• Have strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills and enjoy working closely with colleagues and project teams
• Must be able to speak and write English fluently
• Must be result oriented
