Job Description

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing design solutions and deliverables using geotechnical skills, including foundation, slope, earthwork, and retaining wall design, working alongside structural engineers on complex soil-structure interactions.
• Applying geotechnical expertise in dam and reservoir engineering.
• Managing geotechnical risks through desk studies, site investigations, data management, and ground modelling.
• Supervising junior staff and providing technical guidance.
• Delivering design packages, collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring quality, and traveling to project sites as needed.
• Advancing technical excellence and digital innovation within the team.
• Potential involvement in project management and proposal delivery.
• Expressing your work’s contribution to social outcomes.

Candidate Specification

You will likely have:

• A Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
• Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE).
• Experience in innovative geotechnical solutions, especially in water sector and dam engineering.
• Proficiency with foundation, slope, and retaining wall design software, numerical modelling, and coding skills.
• Experience in construction site implementation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and supervision skills.
• Project management experience and technical leadership capabilities.
