Senior Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer

The Senior Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer will take ownership of projects, deliver high-quality technical work, and support junior team members. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of geotechnical and environmental projects, with strong opportunities for career development and progression.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage ground investigations including trial pits, boreholes, sampling and in-situ testing
  • Log soils and rocks to BS5930 and collect soil, rock, and groundwater samples
  • Undertake contaminated land assessments (Phase I to IV) in line with regulations and best practice
  • Develop conceptual site models and undertake quantitative risk assessments
  • Support environmental services including CEMPs, MMPs, earthworks specifications, and waste classification/management
  • Carry out ground gas and groundwater monitoring and interpretation
  • Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports
  • Ensure compliance with H&S / CDM regulations and environmental permitting requirements
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders
What You’ll Need
  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years experience in geotechnical or geo-environmental projects
  • Demonstrable site investigation and technical reporting experience
  • Knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes, and environmental legislation
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Full driving licence
