SLR Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Geochemist to lead geochemistry across mining projects in the UK and Europe. You will guide waste rock and tailings characterisation, model ARD/ML and groundwater interactions, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with hydrogeology and closure teams.

The role offers hybrid working with occasional international travel, and opportunities to shape technical standards and project outcomes within a globally recognized sustainability practice.

Qualifications

• Extensive mining geochemistry experience including ARD/ML and long-term predictions.
• Experience in sampling design, static/kinetic leach tests and mineralogical testing.
• Strong report writing, client engagement and mentoring abilities.
• Chartered status or clear path toward chartership is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead technical delivery of geochemistry studies across the mining lifecycle.
• Oversee characterisation programmes for mine waste and tailings.
• Develop geochemical source terms and water quality predictions for mine water management.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior geochemists.
• Integrate geochemistry with hydrology, tailings engineering and closure studies.
