Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in London seeks an experienced Principal Engineer to lead major infrastructure projects, provide technical leadership and contribute to business growth. You will oversee delivery from concept to completion, ensure high technical standards, and maintain strong client relationships.

The role requires chartered status, CRE experience, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
• Experience acting as a CRE or similar responsible engineer.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs, drawings and reports.
• Provide technical leadership and approval for complex solutions.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver safely on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and best practice.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Support business development, proposals and client engagement.
• Mentor engineers and staff; monitor performance and profitability.
• Represent the organisation at meetings and professional forums.
