Position

Core Responsibilities
  • Reporting to Brownfield Land Associate Director/ Technical Director
  • Understanding of geotechnical and contaminated land risks and the integration of geotechnical solutions on projects.
  • Project Management of brownfield land investigations and assessments.
  • Tendering / Pricing.
  • Project financial management.
  • Plan, manage and undertake ground investigations and monitoring.
  • Prepare Phase 1, 2 and 3 risk assessment reports.
  • Design, manage and validate remediation schemes.
  • Supervision and verification of remediation.
  • Human Health and Controlled Waters GQRAs and Gas Risk Assessments.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff.
  • Writing, checking and reviewing reports.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies.
Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work as part of a team and to engage with senior management, clients, and regulators.
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Good understanding of geotechnical and contaminated land development constraints
  • Proven track record in design and development of ground investigation works.
  • Committed to a high standard of health and safety in regard to ground investigations
  • Demonstrate an ability to understand complex problems and to conceive innovative solutions.
  • Can effectively communicate with clients, colleagues and outside agencies and build effective working relationships, always aiming to exceed client expectations.
  • Excellent time and organisational skills allowing completion of work to time and budget.
  • Manage junior members to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Is committed to Continued Professional Development and remains up-to-date with current developments in the industry.
Typical Qualifications & Experience

  • Approx. 3 - 6 years' experience for in Brownfield engineering.
  • BSc or MSc in Geology/Earth/Environmental Sciences.
  • Knowledge of UK/EU standards.
  • Understanding of geotechnical/ground engineering.
  • Experience in running site investigation works.
