Qualifications

• 5+ years' geo-environmental consultancy experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and risk assessment frameworks (LCRM, BS10175, NHBC Standards).
• Demonstrated project leadership and budget management; strong report-writing and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our team at Travis Baker, an RSK Group company. We are seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to be based from our Halesowen office who is ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will design, manage and deliver desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments and remediation strategies, with occasional supervision of ground investigations, earthworks and remediation schemes. Responsibilities

• Design, manage and deliver desk studies, site investigations, risk assessments and remediation strategies.
• Prepare and check high-quality technical reports and drawings, ensuring technical quality and regulatory compliance.
• Provide sound technical input and advice on contaminated land, waste, materials management, groundwater and ground gas risk assessments.
• Provide sound technical input and advice on geotechnical engineering matters, including preliminary foundation optioneering, design calculations, earthworks, mining risk assessment, investigation and treatment.
• Manage projects from initial quotation through to delivery, maintaining effective communication with clients and managing project expectations.
• Manage subcontractors and site activities, ensuring that Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards are maintained.
• Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Manage project budgets, monitor financial performance, support invoicing and accurately record project time.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical and professional development.
• Prepare and contribute to proposals, maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for further work and business growth.
• Take ownership of technical and commercial decisions, effectively managing priorities, deliverables and project deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

• BSc/MSc in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Sciences, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Typically 5+ years’ relevant experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and risk assessment frameworks, including LCRM, BS 10175, BS 5930, the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice, Eurocode 7, BS 8004 and NHBC Standards.
• Demonstrable experience of managing and leading projects, with strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets and contribute to financial reporting.
• Strong technical report-writing, checking and data-interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear technical advice and develop effective relationships with clients, regulators, contractors and colleagues.
• Working towards or holding Chartered status, such as CGeol, CEnv, CSci or equivalent, is desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with GIS and CAD knowledge desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
