We are seeking a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our Cardiff/Bristol team, leading projects and liaising with clients while ensuring high standards of health and safety.

The role involves independent project management, writing and reviewing technical reports, and potential involvement in business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline required; master’s preferred.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with a professional body is desirable.
• Experience in Geo Environmental consultancy and ground investigation supervision is important.
• Strong written communication, attention to health and safety, and ability to work in a team.

Responsabilités

• Lead delivery of Geo Environmental projects with limited supervision.
• Manage client liaison, project finances and people within lifecycle.
• Write and review Phase 1/Phase 2 reports and remediation strategies.
• Supervise site investigations and earthworks; ensure compliance with Curtins’ procedures.
• Support team leader with business development and work winning where appropriate.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Geo Environmental Engineer to join our team in Cardiff / Bristol. We are well known locally for working on projects like UWE Bristol and Southampton student residences as well as Willows School Cardiff, Swansea Arena and a number of healthcare, further education and defence projects.

This role involves working with a degree of independence, under limited supervision from the team leader to manage and deliver projects. The successful candidate will have responsibility for client liaison and financial and people management within project lifecycles. The role will also involve both writing and reviewing technical documents such as Phase 1s, Phase 2s, Remediation Strategies. The position also include site supervision of investigations and construction (including earthworks and remediation) and ensuring all activities comply with Curtins’ procedures and the highest safety, health and environmental standards. The chosen candidate may be asked to support the team leader with business development and work winning.

An understanding of DoWCOP processes and/or Qualified Person (QP) status for involvement within Materials Management Plans (MMP) is advantageous but not essential.

The Right Fit

We are looking for someone with experience as a Geo Environmental Consultant, ideally in a multi-discipline consultancy, to support our existing team in Cardiff / Bristol.

A suitable candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline (or equivalent), with a master’s degree desirable but not essential.

They should be chartered or working under a recognised professional institution training pathway towards chartership.

They should have a good understanding of geology and contaminated land with ground investigation supervision skills, strong communication skills, technical skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

The role requires excellent written skills for producing clear, high-quality technical reports, strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and a consistent focus on health and safety.

Any applicant must hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel and work outdoors.
