Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer: another fantastic opportunity at this reputable, friendly and flexible Medium-sized Multidisciplinary Consultancy. This role is based in Birmingham.

Overview

Our client is a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy offering a range of services at throughout the project life cycle. They work across a wide variety of UK sectors, supporting both privately funded and publicly procured developments.

They are looking for Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their experienced Geotechnical team in a hybrid-based role, offering work on varied projects of differing size and complexity, from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce drawings, calculations, reports, and design docs, such as desk studies, site inspections, earthworks specifications and interpretative reports
  • Background in geo-environmental reporting, particularly Tier 2 and 3 analyses, options appraisals and remediation strategies and verification would be beneficial
  • Contribute to planning and procurement of ground investigations
  • Analysis of geotechnical data, preparation of ground models, design and Geotechnical reporting.
  • Independent use of design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GEO5
  • Knowledge of the implementation of the duties of the designer as required under CDM (2015)
  • Follow and contribute to company procedures for completing work to the highest standard and adding value to the schemes they deliver
  • Coordinate with project engineers, engineering technicians and senior team involved in scheme delivery
  • Awareness of design guides and standards
  • Liaise with clients and third parties
  • Identifying and managing risks within your area of responsibility
  • Complete site visits and investigations to review project constraints and the construction process as required within schemes
Requirements
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology is essential
  • An MSc or MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology an advantage
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with the Geological Society of London or Institution of Civil Engineers.
  • Full driving licence
