Job summary

Jarvie Plant Group is seeking a Senior Generator Engineer in Grangemouth to lead the maintenance of our JP Power fleet. You will provide specialist technical support, oversee the workload of the team and ensure high reliability of our power assets, while upholding our safety and quality standards.

The role requires a background in generator/heavy plant maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and excellent communication to explain technical issues and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems for generators/heavy plant.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, time-manage and work in a busy environment.
• CSCS Gold Card and NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance are desirable qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repair of the JP Power fleet and heavy plant as required.
• Plan, support and conduct routine preventative maintenance to company standards.
• Ensure maintenance and corrective work is completed with best possible turnaround time.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and safe working procedures.
• Identify technical problems and implement effective solutions.

Description

The Role of Senior Generator Engineer:

Due to expansion of our power division, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Generator Engineer to lead the maintenance or our JP Power fleet. As our Senior Generator Engineer, you will provide specialist technical support, oversee the daily workload of the team and ensure the continuous reliability of our power fleet. You will also fully utilise your skills and knowledge to ensure our high quality company standards and understand the impact of great customer service. Key area's of responsibilities include:

• Effectively manage and proactively provide support in the maintenance and repair of our power fleet (and heavy plant when required)
• Plan, support and conduct routine preventative maintenance in line with company standards
• Ensure maintenance and corrective work is carried with best possible turnaround time
• Ensure team compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including safety checks, implementing safe working procedures and reducing risk.
• Have the ability to identify any technical problems and implement solutions

Are you the right person for this role?

• A background in a similar role
• A solid understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems specific to the operations of generators and/or heavy plant machinery
• You will be qualified to (S)NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (desirable)
• Be a CSCS Gold Card holder (desirable)
• An effective communicator, specifically in explaining technical issues
• Ability to plan and time manage
• The ability to work in a busy environment
