Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced General Accounting Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract in the UK. You will lead a finance team, manage month-end/quarter-end close, and ensure compliant, accurate reporting across the general ledger.

Role requires IFRS 16 knowledge, ERP/Excel proficiency, and a proactive, ownership-driven approach. ACA/ACCA or equivalent is preferred; part-qualified considered based on experience.

Qualifications

• Senior role leading a finance team in a medium/large business.
• Strong understanding of key accounting concepts and IFRS 16 and upcoming standards.
• Excel and ERP proficiency at a medium level.
• Audit background is desirable.
• High consistent standards and ownership mentality.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Able to meet deadlines and adapt to changing conditions.
• Ideally fully-qualified accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA) or equivalent; part-qualified may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-quality accounting and control environment.
• Review monthly and quarter-end accounts.
• Liaise with ANV Corporate to clear quarter-end accounts.
• Assist in production of statutory financial statements.
• Prepare and/or review Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Act as a key contact with external audit team.
• Prepare CT returns with external advisers and tax team.
• Manage reporting for Joint Arrangements.
• Assist GA Director in forecasting and analysing Cash Flow.
• Develop effective working relationship with extended GSSC team.
• Act as technical expert in key areas.
• Deliver specific internal projects.
