The Role

You will ensure the designated product range is delivered on time, with quality meeting specifications. Supporting the Technical Manager, you'll work closely with product and design teams to maximize sales and profits. You should be an experienced all-round Casual Outerwear Garment Technologist with strong fabric and performance knowledge, covering adult and children's wear.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure product performance standards through supplier training, testing, and monitoring
• Confirm manufacturing methods are feasible for bulk production and meet standards
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
• Prepare fit comments, size specs, and graded size specs based on fit feedback
• Collaborate with the Outerwear department on samples, specs, and patterns
• Visit suppliers to improve quality, build relationships, and enhance manufacturing knowledge
• Perform other relevant tasks, including factory visits
• Lead fit sessions with strong technical expertise

Key Skills & Experiences

• Previous experience as Garment/Fabric Technologist QA/QC/PD, ideally in fashion supply or retail
• Deep knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, and fitting
• Strong understanding of fabric testing standards and care labels for Outerwear
• Highly organized and efficient
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with PLM/Centric advantageous
• Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of product development for fit, quality, and performance
• Understanding of garment wash techniques and processes
• Familiar with retail processes and production systems
• Ability to see the big picture while managing details
• Effective communication skills across all levels
• Good planning and organizational skills, adaptable to changing needs
• Ability to analyze product risks effectively
• Degree in a relevant discipline
• Creative, passionate, and innovative mindset
• Market awareness and experience working with global supply chains
• Interest in and understanding of Sustainability
• Expertise in consumer product safety and legal compliance
